Why we are On One Foot

The University of Toronto is the oldest school in Canada, where the very first Hillel was established in 1945. Jewish students on campus, now estimated at about 1500, have a long and impressive history at U of T, and we are honoured to be carrying on this legacy.

Last year, Team U of T raised money to invest in its Jewish home on campus- the Wolfond Centre on Harbord Street. Now with a refreshed look and an impending major renovation, U of T's space is buzzing with students and activity. The newly formed student leadership, the Jewish Social Entrepreneurs, are looking to stretch their thinking beyond the doors of their building.

Team U of T hopes that you'll join us by investing in our Immersive Programs Fund. Immersive programs are those that significantly impact Jewish identity by offering an intense, often travel-based, Jewish experience that incorporates volunteerism, education and community building. We are excited to be able to expand our Jewish opportunities beyond Toronto and bring those unique experiences back to campus to strengthen the Jewish community at U of T!
